Music for the Mind
Music for the Mind is a Chatham-Kent, Ontario-based charitable project dedicated to raising funds for local mental health initiatives. Previously, they raised money for the Inpatient Mental Health Unit at our local hospital to help provide supplies including daily hygiene products for those patients in need.
This year, we are helping Family Service Kent and the KIDS Team Program which is housed within that organization. We have also added Chatham-Kent Victims Services as a receipient.
This fundraiser started in 2019 and is led by Elisha Banks, who has benefited from mental health services herself. To her, this cause is personal.
The fundraiser has evolved from a one-time-per-year concert to a year-long endeavour. With a live music event in the works, Elisha is also planning other ways to continue the mission of Music for the Mind all year long.

Dollars raised for Mental Health in Chatham-Kent
2019-2021
2022-2023
Family Service Kent is a non-profit organization that provides mental health supports throughout Chatham-Kent. From the funds raised through the Music for the Mind fundraiser, 45% will be donated in support of Family Service Kent to provide minimal fee or free counselling for people 6 years of age and older. A further 45% will be donated in support of the KIDS Team Program to help cover the cost of psychological assessments for children and youth up to the age of 18 when their families are unable to cover the cost privately. No child, no family, no one should go without support in Chatham-Kent when they need it.
The remaining 10% will be donated to Chatham-Kent Victims Services. The funds will be used to purchase weighted blankets which help people with anxiety and gift cards for people in need of food and/or daily hygene products.
Let’s help Family Service Kent, the KIDS Team Program and CK Victims Services help those that need it most by supporting the Music for the Mind fundraiser. Together we can help eliminate the financial barriers to accessing supports and let people in our community who are struggling know that they are not alone!
